Works cited just got easier

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

You may or may not like the new Ebsco interface but one feature is unarguably easier–suggested citations for MLA, APA styles and others. When your list of search results appears, first click on the title of the article of interest. When the citation and abstract page appears on the screen, look to the top right toolbar. Next to save and print options is a logo just for citation models. (Roll your mouse over the icons until you get to cite this article.) You can then cut and paste the citation model into word –be sure to double space it though to be accurate for MLA and APA styles. (mg)

laptops to go

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

The library has 30 new laptops for lending which brings the total number to approximately 60. Students need their DCCC college ID and need to be in good standing to check out a laptop. Borrowing period is for one day. Laptops are due back by noon on the day after borrowing for day students and by 6:30 pm on the evening after borrowing for night students. Late fines are steep for this privilege! Fine is $20 per day if laptop is not returned by due date and time. (For weekends, you can borrow on Friday and bring it back Monday at noon for day students and Monday at 6:30 pm for evening students.) Questions about laptop borrowing procedures can be handled at the library circulation desk 610-359-5326. Technical questions about laptops including internet accessibility can be handled at the Academic Computing helpdesk at 610-359-5211 or room 4274.(mg)
