The librarians receive many questions about works cited listings at this time of year so here is a tip from DCCC librarian Martha Broad on how to get that hanging indent (the pesky second line that must be indented in a works cited entry) just right:
How to indent your Works Cited/References page in MS Word file:
Do the following before entering any citations.
1. Click on the home tab.
2. Click on the expand arrow in the paragraph box.
3. Under indentation, click the down arrow under special.
4. Select hanging.
5. Change 0.5” to 0.3”
6. Change spacing to double. Click OK.
Do not hit the enter key until you have finished typing a citation.
