Testing On Marple Campus
Our Learning Center on main campus provides a spacious, quiet and secure environment for students to take tests. If you miss an exam or are taking a distance learning exam, you may be permitted to take the exam in the testing center. If a counselor informs you of special needs, you will be permitted to take tests in the Learning Center as needed.
Please note that our Instructional Assistants, who proctor all tests and exams, adhere to the college policy for Academic Honesty as stated in the student Handbook. They will report all violations of the policy to faculty involved.
What Students Need To Know To Use The Testing Service
Before you take advantage of our testing service, be sure you will be able to provide us with the following information:- Bring a DCCC ID or valid state photo ID to the testing room.
- Know your instructor’s name.
- Know the Learning Center’s hours so you can plan to finish 15 minutes before closing. During break or between semesters, call (610) 325-2776 for the Learning Center’s hours.
- If a computer is required for your test, you will need to make a reservation to be guaranteed a computer. Please call (610)325-2776.
- No electronic devices are allowed in the testing center (including PDAs, laptops, other wireless devices). Cell phones must be turned off and cannot be kept on top of your desk.
- Your test directions will be specified by your instructor and given to you by the staff in the center.
- Be aware of the dates that your test will be in the center. If you need an extension, ask your instructor before coming to the center.
- To respect other students taking tests, please do not bring children to the testing area.

Prometric, MOS, and ICDL Testing
The Marple Campus Learning Center is an authorized testing center for Prometric, MOS, and ICDL certification tests
- To schedule or learn more about Prometric tests, you can visit the Prometric's Site for Test Takers. Prometric tests can also be scheduled at www.2test.com.
- To schedule a MOS or ICDL test, please call the Marple Campus Learning Center at (610) 325-2776.
- To learn more about MOS (Microsoft Office Specialist) tests, you can visit the Microsoft's Site for MOS Certification.
- To learn more about ICDL (International Computer Driving License) tests, you can visit the ICDL US Site.
Testing for DCCC Distance Learners
You will be given test dates with your syllabus. The instructor provides the testing center with a class list for each exam, which you initial at the time of testing. If you wish to test at an off-campus site, contact the Distance Learning Department at least one week before the start of the exam.Testing For Students Of Other Schools or Companies
If you are a student at another college and need to take a test or if you need to test for a company at a local proctored site, you may use the DCCC Testing Center for your convenience. The college charges $35 for this service, payable to DCCC on the day of testing. Please note: This fee is a change effective 7/17/06.On the day of your test:
- Bring a valid state photo ID with you.
- Check the hours of the center, especially between semesters.
- Be aware of the rules that apply to all test takers in the center.
The college or company for whom you are taking the test should mail the test to the Director of the DCCC Learning Center and include complete test directions and a contact number or email address in case there is a problem. Tests are returned via certified US mail, unless other mailing arrangements have been provided by the school or company involved.

Other Testing Services
Other tests such as college placement tests, the GED, and CLEP are administered by the DCCC Assessment Center. You should contact that center for a better understanding of their services.
Faculty Use Of The Testing Service
You must complete a Test Direction Form for each test or group of tests you bring to the center. Test direction sheets are also available in the testing room. Also:- Your name must be on each test.
- Your students will not be permitted to leave with tests. All tests are held for pick-up or will be mailed to you.
- You must provide one test for each student. The testing center will not make extra copies of your tests.
- If you put student names on tests, the staff will only give tests to the students whose names are on tests.
- Please inform your students that a DCCC ID or valid driver's license is required to take your test.
- Inform your students to which Learning Center (Room 4260 or 1180) you have submitted the tests.
- The Learning Center is not able to proctor for entire classes, except for distance learning classes or individualized math classes.
