English as a Second Language (ESL) Program
New international students take the ESL placement test during Orientation. The College uses the Secondary Level English Proficiency (SLEP) test to accurately place students in the ESL program. Samples can be found online in the "tests directory" at www.ets.org. The College does not require or accept any test scores other than the College's ESL placement test scores. There are 14 courses (12 ESL + 2 developmental English courses) in the ESL program. Students in the Advanced level may be eligible to take regular courses along with ESL courses.
Placement Testing
Students' scores on the ESL placement test determine where they begin in the ESL program. Students cannot re-take the ESL placement test.
