International Student Admissions

An international student who needs the student visa to attend Delaware County Community College must take the following steps to obtain the I-20.

  1. Complete, sign and mail the Application for Admissions of International Students with a non-refundable $25 (US) application fee to Delaware County Community College, Office of Admissions, 901 South Media Line Road, Media, PA l9063 USA. This form may be obtained by contacting the Office of Admissions or by download.
  2. The deadline for completed applications is July 15 for the fall semester, November 15 for the spring semester, and April 15 for the summer ESL program.
  3. An affidavit of support is required from your sponsor. The affidavit must be in English and signed and sealed by a notary public or first-class magistrate. If you are supporting yourself, an affidavit of support in not required.
  4. A certified bank statement is required to demonstrate you have sufficient funds to cover college expenses. You must show at least $16,500 of support in U.S. dollars to cover tuition, living expenses, personal expenses and mandatory health insurance for the academic year (fall and spring semesters). Please be aware that the summer ESL Institute is an additional $7,100. The certified bank statement must be in English on bank letterhead with an official signature whether the account is in good standing.
  5. Please send an original or certified copy of official secondary school transcripts along with proof of graduation. All documents must be certified English translations.
  6. Send official transcripts for all college or university work attempted. Records must be translated into English. If transferring from an American college or university, please forward transcripts from each school attended.
  7. Transfer students must complete the Transfer Request Form.
  8. DCCC does not accept TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language). A placement test will be given to all incoming international students.
  9. There is no financial aid or payment plan for international students.
  10. To remain in good standing with the Immigration Service, you will be enrolled as a full-time student completing a minimum of 12 credits per semester with a minimum 2.0 ("C") grade point average.

PROCESS FOR REINSTATEMENT

An international student who desires to re-enter Delaware County Community College after an absence must take the following steps to obtain the I-20.

  1. Contact the Office of Admissions in writing by July 15 for the Fall semester, November 15 for the spring semester, and April 15 for the summer semester expressing your interest to return at admiss@dccc.edu
  2. An updated affidavit of support is required from your sponsor. The affidavit must be in English and signed and sealed by a notary public or first-class magistrate.
  3. An updated certified bank statement is required to demonstrate you have sufficient funds to cover college expenses. You must show at least $16,500 of support in U.S. dollars to cover tuition, living expenses, personal expenses and mandatory health insurance for the academic year (fall and spring semesters).
  4. If you are out-of-status with the Immigration and Naturalization Service, you must contact the Office of International Student Services, ldellosa@dccc.edu.
