Reference Librarian - Information Literacy - Full-Time - Tenure-Track | General reference duties of this position include reference/research assistance at the reference desk according to staffing needs, individual and group information literacy instruction, developing instructional tools, and designing advanced information resources such as tutorials, web 2.0 and other media. This position plays an active role in the integration of emerging technologies; participates in all other Library processes such as the evaluation and selection collection materials and technologies; promotes library services and resources to faculty and students. The Information Literacy Librarian will assist in leading a team to create instructional materials, manage and conduct assessment and evaluation of both the Information Literacy Program and student skills, and promote information literacy initiatives with librarians and teaching faculty; actively participate in general institutional and professional activities. Additional Duties: Provide reference service both face-to-face and using a variety of electronic media, advising patrons on the use of information resources; provide information literacy instruction in collaboration with faculty; assist in collection development as necessary; provide leadership and planning for the Information Literacy Program in lieu of a subject liaison; assist in providing and delivering services to branch campus sites and distributed learning; commitment to professional development; other duties as assigned by supervisor. |
Automotive Instructor - Temporary Full-Time - Fall 2010 Semester - Internal Applicants Only | The Automotive Technology Instructor is required to teach courses in our NATEF Certified Automotive Technology Program. Classes consist of both lecture (theory) and lab (practical applications) at the technician level. The successful candidate will be required to complete program and course assessments on a periodic basis to assure that the content meets or exceeds industry standards. Duties include: teach a minimum of 15 credit hours for the Fall semester; establish a minimum of five office hours/weekly to meet with students; provide academic advising for students in relevant majors; prepare course syllabi with clearly defined course competencies and measurable learning activities; use classroom assessment results to improve instructional design; participate collaboratively in curriculum development and revision as needed; participate in general faculty and division meetings including faculty in-service activities; participate in all college academic functions; participate in the program and course assessment process; value the diversity of students; assist in establishing interdepartmental "Learning Communities" among faculty and students; perform additional duties as assigned. |
Carpentry Instructor - Temporary Full-Time - Fall 2010 Semester - Internal Applicants Only | The Carpentry Instructor will teach residential carpentry courses on the Marple Campus of Delaware County Community College. Primary instruction will include teaching framing, roofing and siding, doors and windows, floor systems, staircases and balconies, and interior finish work to college-level carpentry certificate students. |
