| Description | Responsible to the Director for Institutional Effectiveness for providing research, statistical and technical support for research, evaluation and assessment projects to support decision-making. Projects include planning and research initiatives, performance measures compliance, program effectiveness studies, federal and state reporting, and other institutional effectiveness initiatives. Initiates, conducts, and reports on various projects, performing related duties such as survey design, survey administration, data analysis, report preparation, communication and dissemination of results. Duties include: Assist faculty and staff in designing surveys and data collection instruments and implementing collection, data analysis, and reporting of results; assist all units of the college to develop, implement, and use assessment programs to improve their function; use SPSS to analyze data, including the use of multiple files for student tracking and longitudinal analysis; apply statistical techniques to data to analyze patterns and trends, understand relationships, and provide support for management decision-making; prepare related reports and make presentations to communicate findings to internal decision-makers and external audiences, using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SPSS as appropriate; compare college data to benchmarking and community data; summarize pertinent census and labor market reports; may coordinate work of student employees as required; serve on committees; attend professional meetings and workshops; related duties as assigned by the Director of Institutional Effectiveness. |
| Requirements | Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in related field, PhD preferred; three years experience working in related higher education setting with substantial experience in institutional research and evaluation. Required Competencies: Knowledge of relational databases; knowledge of computer operating systems, spreadsheets, graphic and database management, statistical/query tool software, e.g. MS Excel, MS Access, and SPSS; knowledge of current trends in higher education; ability to present complex and detailed information to various audiences; ability to effectively communicate with internal and external constituencies; ability to manage large volumes of data; ability to clarify problems, implement procedures for resolution and disseminate information in an appropriate and timely manner; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; ability to maximize technology in analysis and planning; ability to learn new computing technologies and data structures. |
| Salary Range | 23A - A salary range of $64,608 - $72,684 and a competitive, comprehensive benefit package. |
| Hours/Start Date | 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with a start date of January, 2010. |
