Am I Being Abused?
The list of behaviors and other links on the left may help you identify any current or past physical, sexual, or emotional abuse. You may have been abused by a stranger, but more often it is by an intimate partner, family member, or acquantance.Violence is usually not an isolated incident but a pattern of behaviors intended to harm and control. You are not responsible for and you do not deserve to be abused no matter what the circumstance. If you are currently experiencing incidents of abuse, you deserve to receive support from people who understand the reality of physical, sexual, and emotional violence.

No one deserves to be beaten or hurt at home. If this is happening to you, it is not your fault and you are not alone. You have choices and there are people who can help and support you. If you are involved in a relationship in which you are being hurt and abused, there are things you can do to protect yourself and places you can call for help.
