Afghan-Iraq Veterans Commemorative Tree Dedication

Tuesday, November 13 at 11:10 a.m.

The Delaware County Community College family will honor DCCC students who are or will be military veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars at a Commemorative Tree Dedication on Tuesday, November 13 beginning at 11:10 a.m. (Q-Time). Students, faculty, and staff will assemble at the site, located near the tree dedicated to the memory of those lost on 9/11. The dedication ceremony will include a bagpiper, a color guard from the Delaware County Sheriff's office, and much more.

The project has been spearheaded by faculty member Labron Shuman, Professor, Administration of Justice, who has been raising funds to pay for the planting of the tree to honor our veterans. The money will be used for the worthy cause of acknowledging and showing respect for those among us who have or will serve. If you would like to make a donation, checks may be made payable to the "DCCC Educational Foundation," purpose: A.I. Veterans' Tree Fund.

All members of the campus community are encouraged to attend the ceremony and help support our fellow students. For further information, contact Labron Shuman at ext. 5008.
