In the context of library research, a "database" is a tool you use to discover information. Library databases are like cars; they may look different, but most of them work the same way and have similar parts. In this webinar, you will be introduced to common database characteristics and search techniques. You will practice evaluating different databases in terms of their features and what types of information you find using them. We will also discuss attitudes and behaviors of successful database searchers. The overarching goal of the session is that you develop a deeper understanding of library databases, so you can assess if a particular database is useful for your research and quickly teach yourself how the tool works.
