Is Distance Learning For Me?

Distance Learning is not the best option for every student. Read through the following characteristics to see if you are the type of student who would do well taking online or hybrid courses.

Are You Motivated?
Individuals often enroll in Distance Learning classes to accelerate their degree program, to learn skills for a promotion or new job, or to earn a degree while working full or part time. They have specific goals and take Distance Learning courses to achieve them.

Are You Self-disciplined?
Academic work requires a great deal of time and effort and distance learning is often more demanding than traditional study. You must be willing to make the necessary sacrifices to reach your academic goals.

Are You Organized?
Distance learners are often employed full or part time, have children and other responsibilities that prevent them from attending regularly scheduled classes. To keep track of everything happening in your busy life, you must plan and manage your time well.

Are You Assertive?
Students in distance learning classes take control of their learning. If you have questions or need assistance, your must initiate contact with your professor or other appropriate resources.
