Grant-Funded GED Program (Adult Basic Education)

The mission of the program is to teach basic skills and assist learners in developing life and job readiness skills in order to move into the workforce, training programs and higher education.

This program is designed to improve basic skills in reading comprehension, writing and math in preparation for the examinations.

Classes are open to anyone age 18 or older and are at no cost to the participant. For class and application information, please call 484-237-6246.

Community Education GED Program (Advanced)

This program is designed to prepare learners for success in the examinations. Areas of preparation include: reading, writing, English, math, natural science and social studies. Students should be at an 8th to 10th grade level before registering for this course.

Registration for the Exam 

NOTE: Registration is on a first come, first served basis.

  • Two forms of identification are required at testing. One must be a state or federal government issued photo ID, such as the driver’s license or state identification card. The second may be a social security card, passport or military identification. Call 484-237-6245 for other examples.
  • Students must call 24 hours prior to the exam if they cannot attend. If students do not call and do not show, they will forfeit their fee and have to reregister and pay again.
  • For an evening test, students must arrive at the test center at 4:45 p.m. on the day of the exam. It will take until approximately 9 p.m. For a daytime test, students must arrive at the test center at 9:45 a.m. on the day of the exam. It will take until approximately 2 p.m.

Candidates may obtain a registration form by visiting the Community Education office (Room 241) on the College’s Downingtown campus or by downloading the form. Registration forms must be completed in full and returned with payment in order to be processed. Without payment, a space will not be held for the testing session. Payment is only accepted by check or money order. No cash or credit cards are accepted.
