Information about Transfer Counseling Appointments
Transfer Counselors Provide 3 Possible Services
- College Search: After choosing a major, transfer counselors can work with you to help you determine which college or university will best meet your needs. Considerations such as location, tuition, comparison of programs or campus environment can be discussed with transfer counselors to help you determine the best fit for you.
- Academic Plan: After determining what college you would like to transfer to, transfer counselors will create help you to create a list of courses that will transfer from DCCC to the four year school of your choice. Many students are concerned about taking courses that will not transfer or not meet requirements for their desired transfer school, this “Academic Plan” option is designed to help eliminate those concerns.
- Application Assistance: The major responsibility of the application
process falls upon the student, but DCCC counselors are available to walk
students through the process if they feel overwhelmed or confused. Students
needing application assistance should arrive at their appointment with the
application completed to the best of their abilities and a list of questions
or concerns they have regarding the process.
