The mission of the Career and Counseling Center is to facilitate growth and development individually, in groups and/or through information resources. This includes assisting in the resolution of personal, career, academic and transfer questions, concerns or problems; developing and providing special services for specific groups; providing printed, computer and video information resources for self-assessment, career exploration, educational goal setting, transfer and job search.

How We Can Serve You

Career Counseling
A Career Counselor can guide you step by step through career decision making to help you clarify your goals. Whether you need help choosing a major or you are changing careers, counselors can explain DCCC procedures, regulations, and services. When you find yourself with a questions and don't know where to turn, be informed and ask a counselor.

Academic Counseling and Advisement
Counselors can address your academic concerns and answer any questions you may have about the DCCC Catalog, course requirements, course substitutions, and study skills.

Personal and Informational Counseling
When outside responsibilities conflict with academic progress, it often helps to talk about these issues with a counselor. For long-term counseling needs, our counselors have access to an extensive referral network.

Transfer Advisory
Many students attend DCCC as the first step in a plan to reach their educational goals. If your long-term goals include transferring to a four-year institution to earn a bachelor's degree, make an appointment with a DCCC transfer counselor. Transfer counselors can guide you in selection of a transfer school and assist you in appropriate course selection to ensure a smooth transfer.
