Delaware County Community College

Services

The Campus Life Office supports a variety of services for students including the following:

Book Exchange

A student book-exchange board is located in the cafeteria. This gives students an opportunity to sell used textbooks directly to other students. The best time to sell books is about one month before the end of the semester, when most students have pre-scheduled for the next semester or during the first few weeks of school, when most students learn what books are required.

Bulletin Boards

Bulletin boards have been placed in convenient locations in both main campus buildings for the posting of notices and signs. The boards have signs indicating the type of information that may be found or posted on them.

  • The Campus Life Office (2518) must approve all notices and signs on bulletin boards..
  • All notices must be removed the day after the activity. Individuals and groups are responsible for removal of their signs.
  • The only bulletin boards approved for non-campus information is in the student's lounge and the cafeteria on the second floor of Founders Hall. All non-campus notices found on other College bulletin boards will be removed.
  • A bulletin board is located in the cafeteria for "for sale" and housing notices.
  • Because bulletin board space is limited, signs and posters for bulletin boards must not be over 11"x14" in size.
  • Movable standards are available for signs larger than 11"x14". They can be moved from the cafeteria lobby to other appropriate locations.
  • Notices and posters should be fastened with thumbtacks. Do not use staples.
  • Signs must not be posted on walls, doors, windows or any surface other than bulletin boards, tack strips or movable standards.

Car Pool

Students looking for passengers or needing a ride to and from school can stop by the Campus Life Office (2518) on the main campus and ask about the Car Pool Board. The board has information about travel times and locations to help students coordinate transportation to and from the College.

Lockers

Lockers are located at either end of each floor of the A building and are available for use by purchasing a lock from Campus Life Office (2518). Students can renew lockers for each semester in attendance.

Lockers for overnight or short-term storage are available outside the Bookstore. Anything left longer than 24 hours will be removed and can be retrieved from Lost and Found at the Security reception desk in the main lobby of Founders Hall. No personal locks are allowed on college lockers.

Lounges and Study Areas

There are several lounge and study areas at DCCC. The main lounge, which is know as the Student Lounge is on the second floor of Founders Hall. There are tables and chairs for playing cards and games, couches and video games. Eating and drinking are discouraged in the lounge.

The North and South lounges, located at either end of the third floor in the A building, are much quieter and are great places to study. However, the Library, Learning Center and the various study carrels set up throughout the College are best for studying.

Student Information Service (SIS) & Television Information Service (TVIS)

To keep students informed of the many College activities and important dates, the Student Information Service (SIS) is published and distributed to many campus locations on a weekly schedule during the fall and spring semesters and periodically during the summer. An important means of communication, the SIS includes such information as registration deadlines, office hours, and club and organization meetings and events. This information is also broadcast on television monitors located in the cafeteria, building lobbies and the student lounges.

Transportation

DCCC's main campus is served directly by two SEPTA routes: route 112 from 69th Street in Upper Darby and route 118 from Chester.
