Intercollegiate Athletics and Sports Clubs
DCCC's intercollegiate athletic program provides competitive activities for students.

Eligibility Rules to participate in Intercollegiate Sports at DCCC

  • Completed physical examination prior to season
  • Must carry primary health insurance
  • Should meet the following minimal academic requirements:
Total Credit Hours GPA
0-8 No GPA
9-19 1.50
20-29 1.75
30-39 1.8
40+ 2.0
  • Prospective athletes must carry a minimum of 12 credits to be eligible to play any of the intercollegiate sports.
  • Part-time DCCC students, carrying 6 credits, may participate in inter-collegiate athletics if they have acquired 30 credits or more at DCCC.
  • All transfer students must have completed a minimum of 9 credits, in their last full time semester of attendance with a 1.50 or better.

Sports Clubs

Sports clubs provide DCCC students with opportunities to participate in athletic competition on a more flexible basis than the intercollegiate athletic program. Full and Part-time students may register for sports clubs.

Recreational Activities

DCCC students can utilize several local recreational facilities by purchasing advance tickets or showing an ID card. Activities offered include ice skating, bowling, tennis, in-line skating and the use of several fitness centers. Specific information on facilities, location, cost and dates available can be obtained from the Campus Life Office (2518, 610-359-5354).

Intramural Sports Activities

DCCC students have the opportunity to participate in informal team sports activities. These sports activities are offered at various times during the day and evening on the main campus and at community locations. Intramural sports activities generally offered include co-ed volleyball and basketball.

Students participating in Intramural and recreational activities do so at there own risk and are encouraged to acquire medical insurance. Information on short-term medical insurance is available at the Health Center.
