DCCC to Continue Non-Western Art Course
Delaware County Community College will continue its popular Art History course, "Non-Western Art," this Fall. "Non-Western Art"
(Art 112) will survey the artistic styles of Asia, including Buddhist and Hindu art from India, Java, China, Korea, and Japan, as well as other parts of the world.
The course will include painting, sculpture, and architecture, which will be studied as individual works in relationship to their social, geographical, and religious backgrounds. Issues concerning how particular works of art are illustrated and interpreted will also be a focus of this course, as will the influences of the cultures of the world upon contemporary and post/modern art.
Students can register for this course, as well as others, at the College's Fall 2008 Late Registration Day on Wednesday, August 27.
