Delaware County Community College

DCCC Bookstore Buyback Policy

The DCCC Bookstore issues prepaid MasterCards for books from any DCCC student during designated buyback times (usually at the beginning & end of each term).

All books utilized in the course of instruction at DCCC (textbooks, non-textbooks, new & used) are eligible for a fair evaluation.

Prices are determined by DCCC Bookstore need and the current market value. Prices may vary according to the time of transaction and condition of merchandise.

Books designated for resale for the following semester may receive up to a 50% return on the current list price of the book. All others will be evaluated according to national market prices usually bearing a 10-30% return on the list price.

Books should be returned with all media included, in passable (dry, clean) condition. Compromised condition and missing components will affect price.

All purchases are final. No receipt will be issued for a buyback transaction at anytime. If a receipt is needed, the seller is required to provide it to the buyer for validation.

A valid picture ID is required at Main Campus Buyback. DCCC student ID’s may be obtained through the DCCC Library.

At any time, and for the purpose of substantiation, the College has the right to request a student’s course schedule prior to the issuance of the prepaid MasterCard for books purchased from students.

There are no rain-checks or guarantees, prices are based on quotas and no continuances or extensions will be issued. All buyback transactions are via the issuance of a prepaid MasterCard. For those buyback transactions below $25 cash payments will be made to the student, no bookstore credits will be issued.

Anyone receiving and/or selling books unlawfully will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. DCCC Bookstore employees reserve the right to refuse service to anyone not conducting themselves in a business- like manner.
