How do I find out about taking a GED Course?
Call the Community Education department, 610-359-5025 for information on taking a GED Course.
How long does it take to get the results from my GED?
Approximately 8 weeks.
How long does it take to get my transcripts from other colleges evaluated?
Approximately 6-8 weeks. Sometimes we must confer with faculty and this lengthens the process.
What if I want to take a course at another college and have it transferred back to DCCC?
Fine. Just complete a pre-approval form which is available in the Assessment Center. This guarantees that the course you take somewhere else will fulfill your course requirements here. After you complete the course, have an official transcript sent to DCCC and complete a Petition to Transfer form, also available in the Assessment Center.
Where can I get information about transferring to other colleges?
Go to our Transfer Office in the Career and Counseling Center, Room 1325.
After classes begin each semester, students are assigned an academic advisor. The advisor can help plan a sequence of courses based on individual needs. Students receive notification of their assigned advisors during the ninth or tenth week of the semester. Students are encouraged to meet with their advisors during the semester about academic problems or concerns.
The office numbers and telephone extensions of all advisors are listed in the window of the Assessment Center, outside Room 2195.
My advisor isn't available when I am. What can I do?
Come to the Assessment Center, Room 2195, and complete a Change of Advisor form. We will do our best to help you out.
I'm getting ready to move to another state and I only have 3 more courses to take before I can graduate from DCCC. What can I do?
Come to the Assessment Center and pick-up a pre-approval form. Take it with you when you move and contact a college in the area to see if they offer the courses you need to take. When you complete the courses, have an official transcript sent to the Records Office at DCCC and complete a Petition for Transfer form. You must also apply for graduation at the Records Office.
What do I do if I don't have an advisor yet?
You can meet with a counselor in the Career and Counseling Center, Room 1325. Exton and Southeast Center students can meet with Student Services Staff at the off-campus centers.
