2006 Distinguished Nursing Alumni Award Recipient
Dameion R. Helfrick (right) received the 2006 Distinguished Nursing Alumni Award from Lana deRuyter, dean of Allied Health and Nursing at DCCC's National Nurses Week Program on May 4. Currently enrolled in the Nurse Practioner program at Wilmington College, Wilmington, Del., Helrick is employed as an R.N. for the Pennsylvania Agency of Nurses in Newtown Square and is a clinical instructor of the Delco Tech - Folcroft Practical Nursing Program.

Receives Distinguished Teaching Award
Charles "Chic" Carman '71, professor of accounting at DCCC, has been awarded the Christian R. and Mary F. Lindback Foundation's Distinguished Teaching Award. The annual award honors full-time faculty members who demonstrate excellence in teaching at colleges and universities primarily in the Greater Delaware valley region. Recipients are nominated by their peers and students; nominations are evaluated by a committee.
Carman has been teaching at the College for 20 years. In addition to his DCCC degree, he holds a BS from St. Joseph's University and an MS from Widener University. He is also a certified public accountant.
