GED Testing Center

The test of General Educational Development (GED) is provided by the Chester County Alliance GED Testing Center for any Pennsylvania resident who is eligible. This is the only testing center in Chester County and serves many students who wish to earn their Commonwealth Secondary School Diploma through this process. Please see the information below regarding the Testing Center and its requirements. The Testing Center can be reached at 484-237-5161, which is a voicemail line. Students wishing to take the GED exam are encouraged to review the information on this website and the materials provided before calling the Test Center as many questions will be answered.

Eligibility for the GED Exam

Pennsylvania residents, 18 or older, who are withdrawn from school, are eligible to take the test. Call the test center for additional requirements and exceptions 484-237-5161. Please leave a message.

• Ensure payment is enclosed to reserve a space

Cost of Testing

Battery of 5 tests: $75
Retest, each test: $25

Notes Regarding Testing

• Two forms of identification are required. One must be a state or federal government issued photo ID, such as the driver’s license or state identification card. The second can be a social security card, passport or military identification. Call for other examples.
• Students must call 24 hours prior to the exam if they cannot attend. If students do not call and do not show, they will forfeit their fee and have to reregister and repay again.
• Students must arrive at the test center at 4:45 p.m. on the day of the exam. It will take until approximately 9:00 p.m. each evening.

* Follow Route 100 south to business Route 30
* Turn right onto Route 30 west
* Follow Route 30 west to Quarry Road
* Turn left onto Quarry Road
* Follow for approximately 1/2 mile to the second traffic light (Boot Road)
* Turn right onto Boot Road
* Follow approximately 1/4 mile to 455 Boot Road (on the right after the Dopaco building)

From the South
* Follow Route 100 north to the Route 30/100 intersection and turn left at light onto business Route 30 west
* Follow Route 30 west to Quarry Road and turn left
* Follow for approximately 1/2 mile to the second traffic light (Boot Road)
* Turn right onto Boot Road
* Follow Boot Road for approximately 1/4 mile to 455 Boot Road (on the right after the Dopaco building)

From the West
* From Route 30 bypass, exit at business Route 30/Lancaster Avenue
* At the traffic light at the bottom of the ramp turn left onto Quarry Road
* Follow Quarry Road for approximately 1/4 mile to the first traffic light (Boot Road)
* Turn right onto Boot Road
* Follow for approximately 1/4 mile to 455 Boot Road (on the right after the Dopaco building)

From the East
* From Route 202 south, exit at the US 202/30 interchange onto the Route 30 west bypass
* Take the Route 30/Lancaster Avenue interchange exit to business Route 30 west
* At the traffic light at the bottom of the ramp turn left onto Route 30 west
* Follow business Route 30 west to Quarry Road and turn left
* Follow Quarry Road for approximately 1/2 mile to the second traffic light (Boot Road)
* Turn right onto Boot Road
