Society of Manufacturing Engineers
STUDENT CHAPTER #355

Delaware County Community College's Division of Technical Education has the distinction of being one of the few educational institutions in the greater Philadelphia area to host a Student Chapter of SME. Membership is open to AET majors and from area partner high schools who are participating in the AET Career Pathways Program. By becoming a member of Chapter 355, you will begin to professionalize your career with one of the largest organizations dedicated to improving the quality of life for people all around the world. The resources available by becoming a member are numerous, and the networking opportunities are endless.

As a member of SME, you will have access to the SME monthly newsletter, the SME Career Resource Center -- where you will learn about the latest job trends and salary information, employment connections and company directories -- the SME Library, students competitions, and scholarship opportunities and awards.

When you join the chapter, you are provided more opportunities to network with your fellow classmates and exchange ideas. You will also receive invitations to join other professionals in the field at industry conferences, trade shows and workshops. These events will help you to focus on your career and keep you up to date with the latest information on new and exciting innovations.

As a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, you will be laying the groundwork for when you graduate and can add SME and any related experiences to your resume. This is a signal to area employers that you are serious about your career path and provides you a head start in becoming a leader in your chosen field.

After graduation, you will be entitled to become a regular member of your local SME Chapter. Ready to join? Complete an application. Once you complete and submit the application, contact the AET Department Office at 610-723-4010 and ask for the project administrator of Grants and Special Projects: they will provide you with information about the student chapter, its activities and upcoming meetings and events.
