How do I know what classes I should take?
You will have the opportunity to meet with an advisor who will assist you in selecting your courses. This will be based on your placement test scores and the requirements of your major. Your advisor will be available during the semester to handle your academic concerns and answer your questions. They will assist you in making appropriate education and career choices.
Are there tutoring services available?
DCCC offers free tutoring and support at all our campuses and centers. We also offer a series of workshops in test taking, note taking and study skills to help you with your academic skills.
Does the College offer accelerated classes?
Our accelerated programs are a fast track to career success. We offer acclerated programs in several areas including allied health, history, human resources, and professional accounting. Many can be completed in seven to nine week terms. Adult students often take distance learning courses by the TV or Internet as an option for their busy lives.
What if I don't know how to use a computer?
The College offers a variety of classes for students just like you who may have little or no background in computers. We offer a variety of non-credit classes in all areas of computers so that you can develop skills in word processing, spreadsheets as well as the Internet. Most classes will require you to use a computer for research or writing papers.
Is the faculty sensitive to the needs of adult students?
Our faculty has been working with adult students for over 30 years and understand their many responsibilities and the demands on them. Since you must fulfill all requirements for each course, they will work with you to help you do so.
