Network Services
The College links its administrative systems users through wide-area and local-area networks operating in a Novell Netware environment. The Novell architecture facilitates the connection of system users to the Banner Administrative application suite and to a suite of office productivity tools - word processing, spreadsheet, presentation graphics and calendaring. This operating environment also provides the first authorization level in the College's information technology security schema.
The goal of the Network Services is to provide a reliable, rapid and secure means of gathering, storing and distributing data which is vital to DCCC's business operations. The infrastructure components of wiring, switches, routers and servers compose a gridwork which forms the foundation of this linkage. This network forms a seamless and secure conduit for application transactions, electronic mail and collaborative file sharing.
