The entire process could take between 1 to 4 hours depending upon lines and where you are in the process. It is best to come early and no later than 2 hours before closing time to ensure adequate service.
Application for Admission
If you are new to the College or have not enrolled for the past year or more, you must file an application for admission before you can placement test and register for courses. Visit www.dccc.edu/admissions-and-financial-aid to print a copy of the application. Please bring the completed application with you to Late Registration.
You are required to indicate your citizenship status on the application. Permanent residents (resident aliens) must provide resident alien number. Refugees/Asylum should be prepared to provide proof. Foreign nationals/non-immigrant visa holders are charged International student rates, see https://www.dccc.edu/admissions-and-financial-aid/tuition-fees for updated tuition and fees. Current immigration regulations prohibit B visa holders from enrolling in credit courses.
Financial Aid
Students should have a plan to pay for college which might include financial aid. Students applying for financial aid must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students can access this form at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Students applying for financial aid for Summer II should complete the 2012-2013 form. The school code for Delaware County Community College is 007110.
If you applied for financial aid after April 1, 2012, you must be prepared to pay your tuition and fees when you register. Should you receive financial aid, your account will be adjusted accordingly. Remember, the process can take time, so getting on the College’s payment plan will hold your classes while you wait for final eligibility determination. Plan accordingly and check your status frequently on delaGATE.
Bookstore credits are not issued for summer sessions. You should be prepared to pay out-of-pocket for text books for summer classes.
Financial aid applicants are required to submit an official, final high school or GED transcript to the Student Records Office. Financial aid will not be disbursed until all requirements are met, including the official transcript received in Student Records.
Payment
Payment is required within 48 hours of registration or you will be cancelled from classes. Bills and schedules are no longer mailed to students. You can view your bill and schedule through delaGATE or receive a print-out from the cashier. You can pay in full or take advantage of the payment plan by paying half of your bill plus a $30 processing fee. One additional payment is due during the semester. Please talk to a cashier about setting up the payment plan and the payment schedule. The College accepts, cash, checks, money orders, Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card and American Express. Payment by credit card or electronic check can be made through the student portal delaGATE, delagate.dccc.edu.
Placement Testing
Placement testing is required for all new students or students who cannot show proof of completing English Composition or college-level mathematics. During Late Registration, placement testing is on-going at the Marple, Downingtown, and Pennocks Bridge Campuses until 6 p.m. and until 4:30 p.m. at the Southeast Center.
