Description

Delaware County Community College is searching for adjunct instructors to teach Electrical day or evening classes at our Main Campus in Media.  The ideal candidate must have experience in classroom instruction, preferably secondary technical education and/or with adult learners. S/he must have hands-on industry experience and able to perform and provide instruction in the basic safety issues associated with electricity; knowledge and utilization of the National Electrical Code manual; application of Ohm’s Law;  residential, commercial and industrial wiring systems; new house wiring and remodeling;  identify and trouble shoot electrical faults and non- conformance; knob and tube wiring; installing new and upgrading old electrical services, overhead; mast type and underground services; electrical testing equipment and how used;  bonding and grounding associated with electrical installations;  installation of standby power systems; voltage drop calculations;  AFCI’s and GFCI’s as per National Electric Code; Agency Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) and the National Electric Code;  methods of connecting motors, motor controllers, generators, transformers, and overload devices; demonstrate installation and application of single and three phase supply systems; conduit bending using hand benders and mechanical benders;  lighting floor plan layout; identify types of electrical fixtures required in a residential and commercial facility; contactors and relays for use in specific electrical systems; connect and troubleshoot; implement established class room lab assignments in accordance with course outline;  photovoltaic systems; the composition of a system and knowledge of installation.
