Salary: A minimum starting salary of $86,969 (28A) and a comprehensive and competitive fringe benefit package are provided.

Requirements

The ideal candidate must have a terminal degree (Ph.D or Ed.D) from an accredited institution; S/He must have experience with collaborative instruction and assessment of learning outcomes; must be detail-oriented and have demonstrated organizational and supervisory skills, in an administrative position in a collegiate environment, preferably within a community college; must have collegiate teaching experience and be familiar with the use of multi-media; experience in adult continuing education would be helpful.

Delaware County Community College, a competency-based institution, committed to diversity invites applications for the Dean, Branch Campus Operations.

The Dean, Branch Campus Operations is a permanent, full-time administrative position responsible for overseeing full and part-time faculty staffing, evaluation and course scheduling.  Competence in the use of technology for instructional, administrative processes and distance learning is essential.  Reporting to Vice Provost & Vice President of Branch Campus Operations, this position home campus is Dowingtown.

Primary responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

Administrative: Supervise the recruitment and hiring process for adjunct faculty. Interview, hire and evaluate adjuncts when necessary; oversee the adjunct evaluation system; oversee the annual professional development program for adjunct faculty; manage the development of the course schedule for all branch campuses, in consultation with site directors; use established criteria for data analysis and system management; supervise site directors at each branch campus; oversee the operational budget; sign adjunct transmittals;  manage the student complaint and grade appeal process for all branch campuses following the guidelines in the Student Handbook; chair all administrative search committees for branch campuses as appropriate; Work with branch campus directors to draft annual operational goals and manage implementation activities and timeline; share administrative coverage (day and/or evening) with other administrators at key times during the academic year (semester start-up, exams, etc.); use quality-based processes and data-driven analysis to operate all systems.

Community/External Relations: Attend various community-sponsored events (chamber lunches, advisory groups); work with high-schools and other colleges to establish educational partnerships; serve as a member of various advisory boards, as appropriate.

Academic: Participate in all tenure track, full-time faculty search committees chaired by a division dean; work with full-time faculty and their academic deans to support tenure activities, including evaluation feedback; assign all branch-campus full-time faculty to a class schedule. The assignment process will follow a system based on established criteria (e.g. discipline needs, site needs/specialties, student enrollment patterns, faculty interests); on-site supervision for full-time faculty; validate, in consultation with site directors, that all course syllabi are consistent with course MCO’s and college guidelines (outline format including diversity and disabilities statements) and are available to students the first day of class; collaborate with site directors to manage the course scheduling and cancellation system; collaborate with site directors and educational colleagues to assess and evaluate current and future course and program offerings; ensure instructional integrity by offering courses and programs consistent with Strategic goals; evaluate student enrollment data for all sites to effectively manage and improve instructional delivery.
