Requirements
The ideal candidate must have a High School diploma plus specialized training in accounting, data processing, bookkeeping or related areas; Associate degree in business or accounting preferred; one (1) year of direct job-related experience; must be able to work at Marple, Southeast, Downingtown and Exton campuses; must be able to work both day and evening hours; must be able to work during peak times throughout the year; be creative, energetic, flexible, and well-organized self-starter who can work with minimal supervision.Description
Delaware County Community College invites applications for a full-time Accounting Clerk II in our Southeast Center campus.
The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for various diversified accounting duties relating to general or student accounting which requires a working knowledge of appropriate systems and college policies and regulations. This position is also responsible for providing quality information and assistance to individuals through timely and accurate information dissemination and service through phone and cashier window contact.
Primary responsibilities include but not limited to processing and recording student payments and issue receipts, including credit card batches; review student bills for accuracy; work with records office in problems involving student addresses, registrations, etc; maintain appropriate files; maintain petty cash fund with timely reimbursements; prepare daily bank deposits; sell tickets for student and college functions, theaters, trips, etc; analyze student accounts for balances, refunds, etc; determine amounts for employee and dependent waivers; work with students in the collection of bills and third party invoices; review documentation and prepare letters of credits; work with and coordinate the depositing of funds for college organizations, student groups, etc; assist in the collection process; Customer Service Contact Center Representative, providing quality information and assistance to individuals via phone regarding key services such as Admissions, Registration, Financial Aid, Continuing Education, cashiering and payment plans, etc; assist with Financial Aid as needed; maintain a calm, friendly, professional and diplomatic demeanor; must maintain confidentiality at all times; special projects and other duties as assigned.
