The ideal candidate must have a High School Diploma or GED; Associates Degree preferred but not required; Three (3) years’ experience in a customer service setting; experience at a community college, one stop career center or help desk environment preferred; Evidence of strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage a fast paced environment; Significant PC experience, ability to assist people with use of technology and online systems in person or over the phone, Microsoft Office and internet skills, preferably the JobGateway system; Demonstrated success in working with a variety of constituencies, including job seekers, employers, students, educators, agency partners and the public at large; Valid driver’s license and insured automobile required to meet travel requirements.


Delaware County Community College invites applications for a part-time Greeter in our PA CareerLink office.

The Greeter welcomes all visitors to the PA CareerLink one stop career center at the Workforce Entry Center, via phone, email, fax or in person and is charged with assessing, informing and referring individuals to services provided onsite or in the community.  The Greeter manages all front desk functions and maintains all resource materials and equipment in the Career Resource Center.  The Greeter assists participants in person or via phone with the use of technology in career development and job search efforts, in particular providing guidance in the registration and navigation of the JobGateway online system.

Primary responsibilities include but not limited to establishing collaborative relationships with partner staff  to encourage a positive environment; respond to customer contact, assess customer need, provide information and guidance. retrieve, reply or forward voice, fax and email messages to appropriate parties; ensure PC workstations, center laptop and office equipment are operational at all times; assist customers with faxing and use of copy machine; assist customers at PC workstations and via phone with use of internet, JobGateway, email, online job applications, resume development and document management; request technical and maintenance assistance when necessary; assessment program appointment setting and reminder calls; assessment program schedule maintenance; data gathering from rolling traffic data base for assessment and reporting purposes; manage workshop registrations; maintain accurate entries in rolling traffic report; maintain monthly staff and public calendar of events; maintain monthly event calendars on DCCC and CWDS websites; administer TABE test and forward for scoring; maintain library, SEPTA kiosk  and information banks; assure all equipment and personally identifiable information is secure at all times; post signage related to closings and other sentinel events; maintain inventory of supplies.
