The successful candidate must obtain all background clearances as may be required by Pennsylvania Act 153.


Master's degree in Education, Deaf Education, Special Education or Interpreting with 20+ earned credits in ASL. Minimum 3 years teaching experience. Native or near native fluency in ASL. One or more current memberships and certification with ASLTA, NAD V and/or RID (ieCDI-P, CI, CT, CI/CT or NIC. Regularly earned continuing education units (DEUs) in field of ASL. Willingness to learn and or have experience in the use of instructional technologies to teach traditional, hybrid and/or distance learning classes, and/or as supplement with platforms such as Blackboard, WebStudy, Angel, etc. Knowledge and skills in a variety of computer usage and software application, Including but not limited to Microsoft Office Applications. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ASL curriculum/course development. Note: Adjunct faculty positions are ongoing pooled positions. Therefore, your materials will remain on file and reviewed on an as needed basis for adjunct faculty positions throughout the academic year 2014-1015 (Summer, Fall, and Spring Semester).

Job Responsibilities: Teach ASL 1 & 2 American Sign Language program.  Developer or assist in the development of future courses of ASL 3 & 4, Finger Spelling, and Deaf Culture.
